A couple of weeks ago as I returned home to the Bay Area upon graduating college, I met up with a local Instagrammer by the name of @dojobeats (Vincent Trinh).
I have to say, it has been such a blessing to come home and realize how “at home” I really feel up here. I’ve reconnected with old friends; I’ve befriended new ones; I’ve lounged around at home and spent time with family. I’m always reminded of how loved I am, and how much love I am given back whenever I am here.
In a new mini series that explores the identity of individuals through their interests and passions, I was so honored to be a part of Vincent’s first episode. He is a very talented Bay Area visual artist/photographer/videographer, and I am glad to say I have made a new friend in him.
It still amazes me at how much people believe in me. I’ve always been a girl who has just done what she does and followed what she believes in because no one can take your love and your passions away from you. I’ve played music not because I wanted to put up a front and “be cool,” but because it’s become a huge part of me; I’ve written stories on my blog featuring other artists and individuals because I somehow always found a piece of myself in them; and I’ve traveled to some weird and obscure places only because I wanted to experience and see something more.
I had a lot of fun with this, and I hope to bring you more soon. ❤ Any thoughts appreciated.
Live honestly and with passion,
Rachel
