SamJam Venice Block Party 2018 Kicks Off The Summer

The folks from Winston House & 2332 Collective threw on their third annual Venice Block Party at Oakwood Park on July 4th weekend — and it was the perfect summer block party to welcome in the summer.

SAMJAM, whose proceeds went to support the Inner-City Arts, featured a DJ set by Young The Giant, upcoming teen pop artist Charlotte Lawrence, a full band set from alternative soul artist NoMBe, alt-pop duo XYLØ and electronic folk music from Emmit Fenn. Due to some difficulties, R&B singer Gallant was unable to show.

Below are a couple of photos I shot for the event:

Although there were a few hiccups, SAMJAM Venice proves to be a promising addition to the summer festivities in Venice. With the gorgeous California heat and summer sun, lush backdrop and local love, there’s a lot SAMJAM can offer in years to come.

As said on the SAMJAM website:

SAMJAM is about making an impact to better our community by galvanizing Venice around music and art. As you can expect from Winston House & 2332 Collective, the music will be some of the best Venice has seen packed into one day! Come out to support Inner-City Arts by partaking in the Venice Block Party we now call SAMJAM.
