“You’ve kept me sleepless every night, I swear this is the last one
Tryin’ to brush you off but you keep stumblin’ into my songs …
I don’t need another song about you
So this is the last one, this is the last one”
The Aces have been my latest musical obsession for all of February, and like I said in my review of their show on Galentine’s Day: “Not only do their songs feel like a breath of fresh air for any young girl who feels as if they heart ‘feels volcanic’ (as per their album name), they are a fun, infectious and talented young bunch who are only on the verge of making a name for themselves nationwide, if not worldwide.”
The Utah-bred pop rock girls’ songs on love and heartache feel like pure catharsis, and I can’t get enough of it! My poor, poor emotional, sensitive heart feels less crazy knowing I’m not the only girl out there feeling these kind of “volcanic” emotions (and feeling like these songs are my anthem for my uneasiness, uncertainty, or frustrations of complicated love).
Here’s an amateur recording of some new-ish style guitar playing for me played over some cheap drumbeats.
Hope you enjoy! Any thoughts appreciated. ❤
With love and honesty,
