For the next installment of my September “mini-series”…

The music of super band Boygenius (Julien Baker, Phoebe Bridgers, Lucy Dacus) has been taking over me in the past month. There’s something about simple folk, acoustic rock, indie music tunes that bring me right back home to when I first fell in love with music… and the guitar… and the beauty of music and songwriting all over again.

I’ve found that even as I listen to a lot of the music coming out today — fleshed with pop electronics, synths and catchy beats — my affinity towards soft acoustics never go away. It’s nice a band like Boygenius is still around, doing what they do, and doing it best. (You should definitely give them a listen.)
