#JayTricia5Ever’s Wedding

Two years ago, a dear friend of mine decided to elope. She was only 21-years-old—the age I am today.

At the time, they just seemed like two crazy kids getting married. I have only heard of the guy–never met him. Two years later, we finally got to celebrate their marriage and partnership, and we could all see how they are still those two crazy kids who are still madly in love. It’s young love, but they’re still so great for each other.

I remember there was a moment while we were still in college when Patricia told me her Mom told her she needs to find someone who she could tolerate for a long period of time–and, at the time, she told me that I seemed to be the only one she didn’t grow tired of. When I first met Jay, I could see how he fit her so well. She was emotional, dramatic and spontaneous. He was grounded, optimistic, enthusiastic and gentle. He seemed to bring a new calm to her that made it feel like her life was finally slowing down and she was beginning to appreciate things for herself again. Instead of feeling in charge of others’ happiness, she was beginning to finally find hers again. I could see that, and it made me so happy to see.

This post is dedicated to #JayTricia5Ever and their lovely wedding. #091415

“Congratulations to this bride on her beautiful wedding that was every bit intimate, quirky yet perfect in every way. From changing the venue 4 times since last week and going through 6 photographers, it won’t even matter because your choice mattered in the end. It’s been wonderful going through this journey with you and I feel so blessed to be a part of your life.”
