I heard Maroon 5‘s fresh new single with SZA premiere this morning on the radio and it immediately caught my attention.
The funky single has frontman Adam Levine talking about “What Lovers Do” on a track full of breezy synths, bouncy rhythms and digital love as neo-soul singer SZA offers her vocals. He poses, “Aren’t we too grown for games?”
His signature falsetto is fun. Head-bop rhythms and infectious beats with a nice drop offer up an easy, smooth sing-along to “Oooh oooh been wishin’ for you / Oooh oooh tryin’ to do what lovers do.”
Another easy pop track for radio that’s catchy and infectious — can’t deny but wanna do what lovers do, too.
Aren’t we too grown for games?
Aren’t we too grown to play around?
Young enough to chase
But old enough to know better
Aren’t we too grown for changin’?
Aren’t we too grown to mess around?
Ooh and I can’t wait forever baby
Both of us should know better
What do you think of the new track?
