Embracing these gentler moments.

When I was young I’d listen to the radio
Waitin’ for my favorite songs
When they played I’d sing along, it made me smile

Inspired by Aimee Mann’s version of The Carpenters’ classic “Yesterday Once More” from HBO’s Vinyl a few years back, I wanted to revisit this song and attempt a quick fingerstyle guitar version of the song.

The holidays have been an incredibly refreshing and rejuvenating time spent at home (and it always makes it hard for me to say goodbye). The trees, the fresh crisp Bay Area air, Northern California weather, surrounded by family, friends, food and — yes — that vinyl spinning. I’ve no complaints! And it was a lovely and gentle way to ring in the new year.

Those were such happy times and not so long ago
How I wondered where they’d gone
But they’re back again just like a long lost friend
All the songs I loved so well
