“Dust In The Wind” (Kansas Cover)

Oh, how it feels good to be home…

The first of a series of August cover videos.

This classic song by Kansas has always been one of those cliche acoustic songs you pick up and learn when you’re just beginning. But, it wasn’t until recently that I caught wind of it and actually wanted to learn it. And I couldn’t get enough of how much it hit home.

It’s a song about the fleetingness of life.
How moments pass us by.
How fame and money and success are all imaginary.
And how we all are just dust in the wind.

In this time of lockdown and since being back home, I’ve been able to slow down and just be. It’s made me think of what really matters — what we want to give our hearts and minds and time and attention to.

As cliche as it sounds, when the dust has settled, perhaps this is how I am able to most thrive, show up and be my fullest, truest and most vibrant self.

Never stop creating. Never stop laughing. Never stop loving the little moments that bring a smile to your face.

With love and honesty,

Rachel
