Hayley Kiyoko brought the feelings out in all of us last night.

The Disney queen turned queer pop icon played a sold-out show this Saturday at the El Rey Theatre, and her infectious pop, dance and rhythmic sense of musicianship was felt in the audience of screaming girls who have looked up to the star for her viral anthems “Girls Like Girls” and recently released single and music video for “Feelings.”

I have to say, being at Kiyoko’s show was really something else.

As an avid concertgoer who is constantly on the lookout for great new artists, performers and songwriters, Kiyoko’s infectious pop anthems won me over. But more than that, she’s created a safe space for those who identify as LGBTQ to dance, let loose, flirt and truly be themselves — that was definitely not amiss Saturday night.

Watch my live concert review coverage and vlog in the video below — and let me know if you’ve caught some “Feelings” too!
